Little Loop Yarn Bookmark
A lightweight crochet bookmark for cozy reading days and thoughtful gifts.

✳ Gather your supplies
- Cotton yarn (sport or DK weight works nicely)
- A hook appropriate for your yarn
- Scissors and a tapestry needle
For this slim bookmark, all you need are chain and single crochet stitches. The result is a thoughtful gift for a book-loving friend. US crochet terminology is used.
Make the bookmark
- Chain 26.
- Work 1 single crochet in the second chain from your hook and in each chain across (25 stitches).
- Chain 1, turn. Work 1 single crochet in each stitch across (25 stitches).
- Repeat the previous row until the strip has five rows total, or until it’s the width you like.
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Add a tassel
Cut three short lengths of yarn, fold them in half, and attach them through an end stitch with a lark’s head knot. Trim evenly.
Try another variation
Use variegated yarn for a playful look, or try one row in a contrasting color. Avoid bulky yarn if you prefer a bookmark that sits flat inside a book.
